Applicants can expect to join a team committed to high standards of client care and community trust. Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Funeral Director role located in Eastland, TX. The Funeral Director will meet with families to plan and coordinate funeral, memorial, and graveside services, including explaining options, documenting wishes, and arranging logistics. Daily responsibilities include preparing and embalming remains in accordance with legal and professional standards, overseeing visitations and services, and ensuring that facilities, equipment, and vehicles are ready and presentable. The role involves managing required documentation, permits, and death certificates, coordinating with cemeteries, clergy, vendors, and other service providers, and maintaining accurate records. The Funeral Director will also provide guidance and emotional support to families, handle payments and contracts, and uphold all regulatory, health, safety, and ethical standards. Qualifications Technical proficiency in embalming and related preparation techniques, with adherence to health, safety, and legal requirements. Experience working in funeral homes, including coordinating services, managing facilities, and supporting operational needs. Strong family services skills, including meeting with families, explaining options, and providing compassionate, professional guidance. Excellent communication and customer service skills to interact sensitively and clearly with families, colleagues, and community partners. Current or eligible state Funeral Director and Embalmer licensure (or ability to obtain, as required by Texas law). High level of professionalism, discretion, and emotional resilience in handling sensitive situations. Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and accurate recordkeeping. Ability to work on-site, including evenings, weekends, and on-call rotations as needed.
