Details\n \n Acute care Labor & Delivery unit with 12 labor beds, 5 antepartum beds, and 2 ORs \n Unit includes an OB emergency room with 6 triage beds \n Handles 150-200 births per month, ranging from high-risk to routine OB cases \n Also cares for antepartum patients requiring extended stays prior to discharge or delivery \n Follows AWHONN staffing ratios \n Uses OB Trace fetal heart monitoring system and Meditech EMR \n Charge nurse role is generally supernumerary, outside the staffing grid \n OR techs serve as OB techs, assisting with c-sections, vaginal deliveries, and stocking \n Day shift schedule, 7a-7p (645a-645p) \n Every other weekend required \n Floating to postpartum as needed \n Neonatology and OB hospitalist coverage in house 24/7 \n Respiratory therapy and pharmacy available 24/7 \n No IV team on unit \n 2 shifts of floor-specific orientation provided \n Requirements\n \n Active GA or compact RN license required \n Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required \n Intermediate or higher EFM certification required \n Minimum 2 years of experience in Labor & Delivery required \n Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers not considered \n BSN not required \n Additional Information\n \n Care for patients ranging from high-risk to routine OB cases, including antepartum patients \n OR techs support c-sections, cerclages, tubals, and vaginal deliveries on the unit \n Facility is designated Baby Friendly with in-house lactation support for mothers \n Scrubs provided by the hospital \n Holiday coverage rotates in with permanent staff \n Must reside more than 72 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel assignment \n Not eligible if employed by the facility within the last 12 months \n \n \n American Traveler Job ID P-756789.
