Job Duties
Mental health professional duties include:
- Making mental health diagnoses in accordance with Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM).
- Providing individual and group treatment.
- Assessing acute mental health and mental medicine conditions.
- Performing biopsychosocial evaluations using expert knowledge of clinical psychology.
- Conducting outpatient group classes, stress management, relaxation training, and smoking cessation training.
- Participating in quality assurance activities.
- Monitoring the use of community resources.
- Providing expertise in human behavior as a mental health team member.
- Evaluating training opportunities and orientation activities.
- Providing consultation to other clinic providers regarding psychological treatment options.
