Product Repair Technician

Location : Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA 98433 USA (JBLM Base) Clearance: Must be able to obtain secret clearance Formal Classroom Training: Will be in a class training for this project for 2-3 weeks and will be paid. Shift Time: 6am-2:30pm Travel: Must be willing & able to travel Pay Rate: $47.78 Duration : 12-month project with high possibility of extension Physical demand required: must be under 225 pounds to be able to go onto the wing aircraft Must Haves: Minimum of 3 years' experience working from heights & using fall protection equipment with weight limitations of 225lb or lower. 3+ years' experience having the ability to read, understand, and interpret basic engineering drawings and technical specifications 3+ years' experience in detecting hazardous working conditions and safety problems via a regular check of equipment and work area 3+ years' experience in repair, maintenance, and retrofit processes and practices HAVE TO BE ABLE TO PASS A BACKGROUND CHECK AND DRUG SCREENING

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Prefer knowledge of live aircraft operations, tank experience, environment and support, including structural, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and propulsion systems operations. Additional Skills: Aircraft electrical troubleshooting skills Experienced in minor/major structure repairs Experienced in sealing structure components Experienced with the following tools: Huck Guns, Drills, Rivet Guns, Cherry Max, all types of calibrated measuring tools Experienced in fabricating and installing bushings into structure material Experienced in working all types of jobs (structure, sealing, troubleshooting…) inside fuel tanks Day to Day: A well-known aerospace company is looking for an Experienced C-17 Structural or Electrical Repair Modifications Technician contractor in direct support of C-17 Globemaster III Integrated Sustainment Program. The position is located at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington. In this position travel is required and a can vary from 1-3 weeks every month to two months. Responsibilities include the following: Assembles, disassembles and/or modifies systems by changing, removing, replacing or upgrading aerospace vehicle components to correct failures or implement changes. Oversees assembly, disassembly or overhaul. Configures aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment. Troubleshoots complex pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components. Performs validation/verification testing of systems and components. Documents procedures and established processes to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance (e.g., repairs, test results, applicable modifications and inspection results).
