Material Handler

Material HandlerThe Material Handler is responsible for advanced material handling, shipping, and inventory control activities, including domestic and international shipments. This role supports warehouse and distribution operations while ensuring compliance with U.S. export regulations. The position requires experience in export documentation preparation and electronic export filings through AES and ACE systems.Key Responsibilities:Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials against purchase orders and packing documentationAccurately pick, pack, stage, and ship materials in accordance with work orders and customer requirementsPrepare domestic and international shipments, including proper packaging and labelingGenerate and review export documentation such as commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, and other required trade documentsSubmit Electronic Export Information (EEI) filings through the Automated Export System (AES)Process export-related entries and filings through the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) as requiredEnsure compliance with U.S. export regulations (EAR and other applicable trade regulations)Validate HTS/Schedule B classifications and support documentation accuracyCoordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and carriers to ensure timely and compliant shipmentsPerform ERP/WMS inventory and shipping transactions accurately and timelyConduct cycle counts and assist with inventory reconciliationOperate forklifts and other material handling equipment (as certified)Maintain organized records in accordance with company and regulatory retention policiesIdentify process improvements and assist in training junior team membersQualifications:High school diploma or equivalent required2+ years of warehouse, material handling, or shipping experienceExperience with international shipping and export documentationWorking knowledge of AES filings and ACE portal processesFamiliarity with ERP systems and warehouse management systemsStrong understanding of inventory control practicesForklift certification (or ability to obtain certification)Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced environmentPreferred Skills:Knowledge of IncotermsHazardous materials shipping certification (IATA, IMDG, or DOT)Experience in a regulated manufacturing or distribution environmentBasic understanding of trade compliance and customs regulationsEmployee Benefits:At LanceSoft, full time regular employees who work a minimum of 30 hours a week or more are entitled to the following benefits:Four options of medical InsuranceDental and Vision Insurance401k ContributionsCritical Illness InsuranceVoluntary Permanent Life InsuranceAccident InsuranceOther Employee PerksAbout LanceSoftLanceSoft is rated as one of the largest staffing firms in the US by SIA.
