Job Summary:

DankZ Budtenders are responsible for providing high-quality customer service, sales efforts, positive internal communication, product knowledge, and dedication to the assigned tasks within the dispensary in accordance with the regulations set forth by the state of Minnesota, the OCM, and standards within the DankZ Operations Manual.  

Responsibilities:

• Strict Compliance & ID Verification: Execute flawless age verification and ID checks strictly according to internal SOPs and OCM regulatory guidelines at the point of entry and the point of sale. 
• Customer Engagement & Education: Welcome customers, assess their needs, and provide accurate information regarding products, consumption methods, dosages, and expected effects. 
• Transaction Processing: Operate Point of Sale (POS) and state-mandated inventory tracking systems with high accuracy. Manage cash and cashless transactions while maintaining precise drawer counts. 
• Inventory Management: Assist with daily inventory audits, restocking the sales floor, and ensuring all products are properly tracked, stored, and displayed in accordance with OCM vault, security regulations, and DankZ SOPs. 
• Store Operations & Security: Maintain a clean, organized, and secure retail environment. Actively monitor the sales floor and report any security or operational incidents immediately per company reporting protocols. 
• Professionalism: Maintaining a positive attitude, arriving to assigned shifts on time, maintain personal hygiene, communicating in a productive manner, and completing assigned tasks. 

Required Skills/Abilities: 

• Must be at least 21 years of age (Mandatory state requirement). 
• Ability to successfully pass all required OCM background checks for retail cannabis workers. 
• Familiarity with, or a strong willingness to understand Minnesota cannabis laws, OCM administrative rules, and DankZ SOPs. 
• Exceptional attention to detail, specifically regarding compliance documentation, inventory counting, and cash handling. 
• Strong communication skills and a professional, customer-first mindset.  
• Prior experience in retail, hospitality, or a highly regulated industry is strongly preferred. 

Education and Experience:

• Understanding of the cannabis products, methods of consumption, and general cannabis knowledge 
• Prior retail, hospitality, and/or customer service experience is a bonus 
• Prior retail cannabis experience is a bonus 

Physical Requirements: 

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time 
• Able to stand or walk for extended periods of time up to the entire shift
