Role Description This is a full‑time, on‑site Financial Representative role based in White Plains, NY or Florham Park, NJ, with comprehensive training provided. The Financial Representative will meet with clients to understand their goals, analyze their current financial situation, and develop personalized financial plans. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include educating clients on insurance and investment solutions, implementing strategies for retirement and wealth accumulation, and regularly reviewing plans to adjust for life changes and market conditions. The role involves prospecting and building a client base, conducting follow‑up meetings, and maintaining ongoing relationships to support clients’ evolving financial needs. Financial Representatives operate as independent contractors while receiving guidance, tools, and mentorship from Northwestern Mutual. Qualifications Solid foundation or strong interest in Finance , including basic understanding of financial concepts and markets. Ability to learn and apply Financial Planning and Retirement Planning principles to build comprehensive client strategies. Interest or experience in Insurance , including life, disability income, and long‑term care solutions. Motivation to develop knowledge of Investments , such as brokerage, advisory accounts, and long‑term portfolio strategies. Excellent communication, active listening, and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex topics clearly. High level of integrity, professionalism, and client‑focused mindset, with a commitment to ethical advice and confidentiality. Entrepreneurial drive with strong time management, organization, and self‑motivation to build and grow a client practice. Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field preferred; relevant sales or client‑facing experience is an advantage.
