We have immediate openings for a for a school bus dispatcher. Experienced is preferred.

Lanpher's Transport, Inc. is a growing local company that has been serving the needs of CNY since 1977.

Duties include answering phone calls from parents, schools and others, communicating with drivers, problem solving, keeping and filing paperwork. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English are a must. Fluency in a second language is a plus. Ability to use Word, Excel and internet-based programs is a must. A cool demeanor and ability to occasionally multitask are required. The dispatcher must also be trained to be a monitor or a driver and serve as an emergency back-up in either position, although one would only be put into that position in an extreme emergency or to keep up credentials.

Our ideal candidate is an individual who is safety minded, pleasant, somewhat flexible, comes to work consistently and on time, fits in with our work family, likes working with children and has a clean driving record.

Applicants must be at least 19 years old, be able to use a computer and telephone and have a clear speaking voice. Long periods of sitting or standing may be required. You must be able to lift at least 40 pounds and pass a NYS physical performance test for either monitors or school bus drivers. Drug testing may be required.
