Reports to : Food & Beverage Manager

Position Summary:

The Host is responsible for creating a welcoming and memorable first impression for all restaurant guests. This role manages guest seating, reservations, and dining flow while providing exceptional hospitality and personalized attention. The Host ensures efficient guest experiences by maintaining organization, communicating effectively with the service team, and anticipating guest needs from arrival through departure.

Service Duties

• Greet guests warmly and professionally upon arrival
• Manage reservations, waitlists, and seating assignments efficiently
• Escort guests to tables and provide menus
• Maintain accurate knowledge of table status and dining room capacity
• Coordinate with servers and management to optimize dining flow
• Answer phone calls and assist guests with reservation inquiries
• Provide information regarding restaurant offerings, specials, and hotel amenities
• Monitor guest satisfaction and communicate needs to the service team
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and entrance area
• Assist with opening and closing duties as assigned
• Handle guest concerns professionally and escalate when necessary
• Follow all safety, sanitation, and company standards
• Other duties as assigned

Experience & Education:

• Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Exceptional guest service and hospitality mindset
• Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment
• Familiarity with reservation and POS systems preferred
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs
• Ability to bend, reach, and move throughout the restaurant as needed
• Ability to perform repetitive motions including computer and telephone use
