(Downtown and Metro Indianapolis) Float staff support coverage for PTO, last-minute call-ins, higher-volume clinics, and front-desk staffing needs. Mileage reimbursements available./pp40 hours per week, with varying days, times, and clinic assignments. Hours will fall MondayThursday between 7:15 a.m.6:15 p.m. and Friday 7:15 a.m.4:15 p.m. Some shifts will be 7:15 a.m.6:15 p.m. As a float, there may be last-minute changes to shift times or assigned locations based on staffing needs./ppTop responsibilities include:/pulliRegister, schedule, and check in patients/liliCommunicate with patients, coworkers, and providers/liliMaintain and update medical records/li/ulpDepartment interaction includes:/pulliSend records to referring providers and workers compensation adjusters/liliWork with other IU Health clinics for patient transfers/liliCollaborate with the departments central scheduling team and insurance team/li/ulpSkills and attributes include:/pulliStrong attention to detail/liliAbility to multitask in a fast-paced environment/liliEffective communication skills/liliExperience with Cerner or Epic is a plus/liliProactive and comfortable asking questions/liliStrong problem-solving skills/li/ulpTraining includes:/pulli68 weeks of training, beginning at one clinic to learn core responsibilities, then expanding to other clinics/liliTraining may be extended as needed/liliSupportive, welcoming culture that encourages questions and feedback/li/ulpRole summary:/ppThis position oversees patient flow from entry to destination and ensures timely, accurate, and professional service delivery. Responsibilities include:/pulliAccurate and timely resolution of patient accounts/liliCollecting information to generate complete and accurate financial and demographic records/liliInsurance verification, prior authorization, and coordination of benefits/liliCommunicating with payers and patients to confirm financial information/liliAccurate patient registration and scheduling of recurring appointments/liliAnswering incoming calls and directing patients and visitors appropriately/liliParticipating in departmental operations and performance-improvement activities/liliComplying with infection control, equipment training, regulatory standards, and safety programs/liliOrdering, distributing, and maintaining department supplies/liliMeeting productivity, quality, and service standards to support departmental goals/li/ulpRequirements include:/pulliHigh School Diploma or GED required/lili03 years of customer service or medical office experience preferred/liliMinimum one year of medical office experience or a combination of customer service experience and education in insurance verification, patient registration, or medical terminology strongly preferred/liliBasic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams)/li/ulpWe are an equal opportunity employer.
