Duties

Help

You will serve as a Supply Technician (Office Automation) and be responsible for conducting searches for required information, initiating records for complex supply transactions, and providing supply operations involving specialized or unique supplies, equipment and parts.

Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include:

• Initiating preparing, editing, and processing requisitions to stock.
• Contacting customers, suppliers, shipping agencies, or others to obtain material status information.
• Ensuring excess material is properly disposed of in accordance with applicable regulations.
• Shipping of widely varied items.
• Conducting inventory control over a large variety of tools and supplies.

Qualifications

To qualify at the GS-7 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-6 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis.

• Preparing, editing, and processing requisitions for stock replenishment.
• Tracking inventory levels, performing inventory counts, and maintaining accurate records of stock using software or databases.
• Coordinating the shipment of materials, including packing, loading, and verifying deliveries.
• Receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing items, and ensuring proper storage.

In addition to the experience above, you must also be able to type a minimum of 40 words per minute to qualify for this position.
