Assistant Branch Manager
The Assistant Branch Manager (ABM) is responsible for the efficient daily operation of a full-service branch. In the absence of the Branch Manager, the Assistant Branch Manager would assume full responsibility for a full-service branch. The ABM promotes bank products and services that support overall company goals.
Essential duties and responsibilities include partnering with management to coordinate and attain branch, region, and company objectives; providing assistance with hiring, coaching, and leading a strong support team of retail staff; complying with all company policies and procedures; ensuring all retail or branch operational functions are performed accurately and in a timely manner; originating, processing, and closing various consumer and small business loan products; maintaining and developing business for the branch; participating in civic and community organizations as needed; completing regular monthly branch audits; ensuring all security procedures are strictly followed; mitigating monetary losses by utilizing good judgment and sound decision-making skills in managing the daily operations of the branch(es); conducting regular staff meetings to keep staff informed; completing employees annual performance reviews in a timely manner, and disciplinary action as needed; maintaining a safe and professional business environment; ensuring all equipment is in good working order; participating in regular SWOT analysis for competitive advantage; lifting coin bags up to 50 lbs; working an alternative location within the region or market; completing required BSA/AML training and other compliance training as assigned; and performing any other related duties as required or assigned.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and experience: Knowledge of a specialized field (however acquired), such as basic accounting, computer, etc. Equivalent of four years in high school, plus night, trade extension, or correspondence school specialized training, equal to two years of college, plus 2 years related experience and/or training, and 1 to 6 months related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Communication skills: Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions in person-to-person and small group situations with customers, clients, general public and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Critical thinking skills: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of known variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formats.

Software skills required: Intermediate: Payroll Systems, Spreadsheet, Word Processing/Typing Basic: 10-Key, Human Resources Systems, Presentation/PowerPoint
