RN - Labor and Delivery (L&D)

Travel RN – Labor & Delivery (7P–7A) Shift: 19:00 – 07:00, 12‑hour nights, 3 nights per week. Duration: 91 contract weeks, guaranteed 36 hours per week. Unit & Patient Profile Location: Wesley Birth Care Suites, Wichita, KS 67214. Building: 3222 E Murdock St. Unit: Birth Care Center (705) with 20 beds, LDRP and 2 operating rooms. Patients: low‑risk pregnancies 37 wGA+. Staffing & Ratios Day shift: 1 charge RN, 7 RNs, 1 staff tech, 1 admission‑control tech. Night shift: 1 charge RN, 5 RNs, 1 staff tech, 1 advanced care provider (ACP). Total staff: 50. Patient ratios: 1-2:1 labor; 3-4:1 postpartum. Equipment & Systems GE fetal monitor, Monica Novii, Alaris pumps. EMR: CPN and Meditech. Responsibilities Provide continuous nursing care for labor, delivery, and postpartum patients. Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, non‑stress tests (NSTs), and circumcisions. Perform bedside shift reports, utilize communication boards, and conduct daily nurse‑leader rounding. Document all patient care in EMR. Coordinate care with anesthesia team, residents, and hospitalists. Qualifications & Skills Minimum 1 year acute‑care L&D experience. ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN or Intermediate Fetal Monitoring (IFM) certification required. Preferred: OR circulating skill, labor positioning/spinning baby experience, OB emergency management.
