Delegatedtasksmayinclude: Obtainingvital signs,heightandweight,intakeandoutput,calorie counts,and/orsimplenon-steriledressingchanges Safepatienthandling:Turningandpositioning,useofspecialtybeds,patienttransferanduseoftransferdevices, ambulationassistanceanduse ofassistivedevices,restraintalternatives, oxygenuseandtransport,suctionuse,pre-operativeskinpreparationand/oruseofsequentialcompressiondevices (SCD) Specimen collectiontoincludebloodcollectionforbedside glucose testing 2.Consistentlyassistswithmaintainingasafepatientenvironmenttoinclude: Addressingidentifiedhazardsinthephysicalenvironmentofthepatientroomtopreventpatient falls Handhygieneandconsistentuseofstandard precautions Useofpersonalprotectiveequipment(PPE)asappropriatefollowingtransmission-basedprecautionsprocedures 3.Communicatestimelyandaccurateinformationfordelegated patientcareactivitiesperformedtoincludeobservedpatientresponsetoperformedactivitiestotheassignedRN inawritten orverbalformatfollowinghand-offcommunicationguidelines. 4.Assiststhe RNtocollectdatafrompatientsonadmission forpatientprocessingandassistswithpatient transferordischargepreparations as instructed. 5.Assistspatients withperformingactivitiesofdailylivingtoincludebathing,shaving,oral care,toileting,grooming,changinglinens,providingwater,assistingwithmealdeliveryandfeedingasdirected. 6.Performshourlyrounding, consistentlyusesAIDETwheninteractingwithpatientsandanswersandrespondstocalllightstimely. AdditionalJobFunctions: Mayretrievemedication frompharmacy,medicationstorageroomortubesystemanddeliverto alicensedstaffmember. Assistswithorientationofnewpersonnelasdirected.
