Students study mathematics every year K-12 as part of the core curriculum. We explore the nature of math itself and have a pure-mathematics focus; our courses are proof-based, and taught using a largely Socratic pedagogy. Teachers lead students through intelligence, charisma, humor, moral integrity and example—in short, through love and friendship. Roles And Responsibilities Teach assigned classes using the Great Hearts curriculum and materials, preparing thoughtful lessons and cultivating an orderly, joyful classroom that supports the pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty. Provide appropriate academic support to students, monitor progress, and partner with school leadership to address academic or behavioral needs in a timely manner. Uphold and model the culture, policies, and expectations of Great Hearts, including dress code, conduct, and safety procedures, contributing to a respectful and orderly school environment. Communicate clearly and professionally with families, initiating conferences as needed and fostering strong home-school partnerships. Participate fully in the life of the academy through faculty collaboration, school events, assigned duties, and a shared commitment to ongoing professional growth and excellence in teaching. Required/Preferred Education Bachelor's or higher degree is required for a lead teaching role Certification is not required for general education All majors are welcome Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal history background check and fingerprint clearance in accordance with state requirements.
