Opportunity Overview

MPLT Healthcare is seeking an experienced, Board-Certified Thoracic Surgeon for an exciting locum tenens opportunity in Honolulu, Hawaii! This position offers a flexible, part-time schedule, strong clinical support, and the opportunity to practice within a collaborative, multispecialty environment.

Assignment Details

Schedule: Minimum 1 week per month for at least 6 months
Clinic: 2 days per week, with 40-minute consultations and 20-minute follow-up appointments
Surgery: 1 dedicated OR day per week, plus urgent add-on cases
Case Mix: General thoracic, esophageal, and thoracic oncology procedures
Surgical Volume: Approximately elective and urgent cases per month
Call: Shared with cardiac surgery colleagues; thoracic surgery coverage only
EMR: Epic
Support: Robust PA and hospitalist support, along with general surgery, pulmonology, oncology, and cardiothoracic surgery teams

Qualifications & Requirements

Board Certified in General Surgery AND Cardiothoracic or Thoracic Surgery
Active Hawaii medical license or pre-existing IMLC licensure
Minimum 2 5 years of post-training experience
Advanced proficiency in VATS and robotic thoracic surgery for malignant and benign conditions
Thoracic Surgery fellowship training preferred; Cardiothoracic Surgery training accepted
Graduate of an accredited medical school or ECFMG certified
Strong commitment to evidence-based medicine and collaborative patient care
