Key Responsibilities
As the Project Billing Specialist, you will take ownership of billing activities across multiple projects while partnering closely with project managers and customers.

• Review customer contracts and establish accurate project billing structures
  
  
• Set up new projects and ensure billing requirements align with contractual terms
  
  
• Manage work orders, billing cycles, invoices, and customer payment coordination
  
  
• Enter and maintain project information, including change orders, within Spectrum
  
  
• Partner closely with project managers to obtain documentation and ensure accurate, timely billing
  
  
• Research billing discrepancies and resolve issues that could delay customer payment
  
  
• Monitor outstanding accounts and assist with B2B collections and payment follow-up
  
  
• Maintain accurate billing documentation and project records
  
  
• Support prevailing wage projects, including setting up appropriate classifications
  
  
• Help the Project Billing Specialist function identify and resolve billing issues before they impact project cash flow
  
  

Qualifications
The ideal Project Billing Specialist will bring:

• 3+ years of accounting, accounts receivable, project billing, or related experience
  
  
• Strong B2B collections experience with the ability to research and resolve outstanding balances
  
  
• Experience reviewing contracts and working with detailed billing requirements
  
  
• Strong Microsoft Excel and Outlook skills
  
  
• Experience working within ERP or accounting systems; Spectrum experience is a plus
  
  
• Solid understanding of general accounting principles
  
  
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  
  
• Confidence communicating with project managers, customers, and internal accounting teams
  
  
• Construction, project-based, or job-cost accounting experience is a plus
