Associate Director, Category Management
AbbVie
Associate Director leading global procurement strategy for primary packaging injectables at AbbVie. Responsible for developing category strategies, managing supplier partnerships, and driving cost savings and process improvements across pharmaceutical supply chain operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end procurement processes and develop global strategies for primary packaging injectables category
- Build annual strategic plans incorporating sustainability and ESG measures with supplier collaboration
- Direct cross-functional teams across manufacturing sites to inform decisions using market intelligence and industry trends
- Define strategic value drivers with suppliers to secure partnerships, achieve cost savings, and optimize processes
- Conduct supplier negotiations and lead mitigation strategies to manage procurement risk and ensure compliance
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field
- Minimum 10 years procurement, supply chain, or operations experience
- Proven leadership of category teams and major supplier partnerships
- Expertise in category management, market analysis, and financial assessment
- Strong negotiation, bidging, and complex project management skills
- Pharmaceutical industry knowledge strongly preferred
- Executive presence with strategic thinking and innovative problem-solving abilities
