Technician Certified-SPD-Full Time Varied-Temecula Valley Hospital

Responsibilities The Central Sterile/Supply Technician will accurately perform quality control checks on instruments and equipment and ensure the sterilization of the instruments and equipment is up to standard. Essential job duties include: The Technician is responsible for making rounds to assure equipment is properly charged for usage. Accurately maintain all sterile or clean supplies and issue them to nursing units on request. Understand and demonstrate the difference in flashing techniques. Accurately decontaminate, assemble and wrap instruments and trays for sterilization and assemble a wide variety of instrument sets. Keep log of missing instruments and sign the instrument set list according to protocol. Utilize/refer to surgeon preference cards when setting up trays. Pull cases and prioritize instrumentation needs based on the surgery schedule. Qualifications One (1) year of experience in a surgical department in an acute care facility (required). Sterile Processing certification or National Surgical Technician certification (required). Current BLS obtained through AHA (American Heart Association) (required). High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Certified Endoscope Reprocessor certification required within one year of employment (required). Benefits Challenging and rewarding work environment.
