Private Equity Analyst

Overview Versus LLC is a newly formed holding company focused on acquiring and scaling a portfolio of small and medium sized businesses across various industries. Our target industries include restaurants and franchises, consumer and business services, and manufacturing. The platform is being built from inception, with centralized operating systems, disciplined capital allocation, and technology-enabled execution. The Role We are hiring a Private Equity Analyst to support investment sourcing, due diligence, and portfolio company analysis across our target industries. This is an entry-level role designed for recent college graduates eager to gain hands-on experience in small and medium-sized business acquisitions, financial modeling, and operational value creation. Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree and a genuine interest in private equity, business acquisitions, and value creation. Key Responsibilities Support sourcing and screening of acquisition targets across restaurants, franchises, consumer services, and manufacturing verticals. Assist in the preparation and review of investment memos, teasers, and presentations for internal decision-making. Coordinate due diligence processes across legal, financial, and operational workstreams for potential acquisitions. Track deal pipeline activity and maintain organized records of target company data and correspondence. Assist senior team members with ad hoc research, competitive analysis, and industry landscaping. Financial Performance & Profitability Build and maintain various financial models. Analyze target company financials to assess revenue trends, margin drivers, and EBITDA normalization adjustments. Review historical financial statements and operational data to identify risks, opportunities, and key value drivers. Support the development of 100-day plans and post-close operational improvement initiatives for acquired businesses. Partner with portfolio company management teams to compile reporting packages and monitor KPIs on an ongoing basis. Growth & Expansion Support deal execution including data room management, vendor coordination, and closing checklists. Assist with integration planning for newly acquired businesses, including systems setup and reporting frameworks. Help identify and evaluate add-on acquisition opportunities within existing portfolio company verticals. Compliance & Risk Management Ensure all deal documentation, financial analyses, and investment materials are accurate and organized. Support compliance reviews and regulatory diligence as part of acquisition due diligence processes. Maintain confidentiality and data integrity across all sensitive deal-related materials and communications. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field required. 0–2 years of experience; prior internship or part-time experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate finance, or consulting is a plus. Experience using various LLMs for analysis and day-to-day operations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex information clearly. High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously. Intellectual curiosity and genuine interest in small and medium-sized business acquisitions and value creation. Self-starter mentality with the ability to thrive in a lean, fast-moving startup environment. Ability to travel occasionally to portfolio company locations or for deal-related site visits as needed.
