About the Role We are looking for a Tax Associate to join our Tax & Accounting team in Allen, TX. In this role, you will prepare individual and business tax returns, communicate with clients, organize tax documents, and help ensure returns are completed accurately and on time. Key Responsibilities Prepare and e-file federal and state tax returns using professional tax software such as Lacerte. Prepare and work with Form 1040, Form 1065, and Form 1120 returns. Review tax documents and identify missing information or supporting documents. Track client documents, deadlines, and engagement progress using TaxDome or similar practice management software. Communicate with clients to request documents, answer questions, and explain tax matters clearly. Identify applicable deductions, credits, and tax-saving opportunities. Assist with tax planning and year-round client support as needed. Work closely with team members using Slack and other communication tools. Stay informed about changes in federal and state tax laws. Ensure tax returns are accurate and filed in compliance with IRS and state requirements. Meet filing deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Requirements At least 2 years of professional tax preparation experience. Experience preparing individual and business tax returns, including Forms 1040, 1065, and 1120. Experience with professional tax preparation software, preferably Lacerte. Good understanding of federal and state tax laws. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Ability to manage multiple client engagements and meet deadlines. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team. Preferred Qualifications Experience with multi-state tax returns. Experience using Tax Dome or similar client management/workflow software.
