Structural Engineer

A leading, employee-owned engineering consultancy is seeking a Mid-Level Structural Engineer to join its growing Transportation Design team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced bridge/structural design professional who’s ready to step into greater project leadership and make an impact on high-profile infrastructure work. What You’ll Do Lead structural/bridge design projects from concept development through final design and construction. Coordinate multidisciplinary design efforts and ensure technical excellence across all deliverables. Serve as Engineer of Record—reviewing and sealing plans, specifications, and cost estimates. Mentor junior engineers; review and check technical work. Conduct field visits and participate in on-site and off-site meetings. Support proposal development, project scoping, and staffing projections. Collaborate closely with internal teams, external consultants, and clients. Attend professional/industry events to foster relationships and support business development initiatives. What We’re Looking For 4–8 years of experience in Penn-DOT Bridge structural design. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (ABET‑accredited program required). Strong technical foundation and the ability to lead components of complex projects. Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset. Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred. Proficiency in MicroStation, AASHTO bridge design code, PennDOT bridge design software, and structural analysis programs. Ability to complete site visits as part of project responsibilities.
