Registered Nurse/Transplant Coordinator Location: Winston Salem, NC Onsite Flexibility: Onsite Contract Details

- Position Type: Contract
- Contract Duration: 3 months
- Pay Rate: $65.00 / Hour (USD)
- Shift / Schedule: 8-hour days; Monday - Friday, 08:00 - 16:30

- Coordinate all patient care needs before, during, and after transplantation
- Follow patient cases from candidate identification through workup/evaluation, cell harvest, and cellular therapy infusion or cell transplant
- Perform pre-transplant evaluation and assessment
- Interpret lab results and diagnostic tests related to transplant
- Review medical history of potential/actual donors
- Monitor vital signs, weight, fluid balance, and graft function
- Review and interpret relevant diagnostic and laboratory data
- Schedule and track pre- and post-transplant testing
- Ensure adherence to transplant center protocols
- Collaborate with the transplant team
- Maintain understanding of post-transplant health maintenance and long-term care
- Apply universal precautions
- Adhere to waitlist criteria
- Manage patient/family education
- Uphold patient confidentiality/HIPAA
- Attend meetings with doctors and other staff throughout the week
- Manage an assignment of up to 8 patients at one time, scheduling all appointments according to a required timeline
- Hematology/Oncology experience - REQUIRED

- Assists with organ offers, acceptance, and recipient preparation
- Organ allocation process
- Relative contraindications to transplant
- Coordinates post-transplant care with team
- Monitors post-transplant patient progress
- Offers psychosocial support and education on lifestyle adjustments to patient and family
- Teaches medication adherence and post-op care plans
- Familiarity with organ-specific diseases (e.g., ESRD, cirrhosis, heart failure)
- Identifies signs/symptoms of transplant complications (infection, rejection, etc.)
- Performs comprehensive physical and psychosocial assessments
- Recognition and management of transplant complications (infection, rejection, etc.)
- Coordinates medication adjustments post-transplant with provider
- Reviews pre-transplant medication regimens for contraindications
- Teaches medication adherence and self-administration
- Understanding of pharmacology relevant to transplant patients
- Tracks patient outcomes and reports per regulatory standards
- Assisting with scheduling of the OR
- Chemo (ONS/ONCC)
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 3 years of experience required
- Minimum 3 years of nursing experience required
- Hematology/Oncology experience required
- Navigator/Case Manager experience required
- First-time travelers accepted
- Local candidates accepted
- Work setting: Acute Hospital & Outpatient Clinic
- Patient diagnoses: hematologic malignancies
- Special procedures: Peripheral blood transplant cellular therapy

- Unit orientation: 40 hours basic, with ongoing orientation throughout assignment
