BASIS Phoenix South is seeking qualified candidates for a Paraprofessional to start ASAP! About our campus: Our Phoenix South campus is a Title I School. What does that mean? "Title I" refers to schools that serve a high percentage of students from low-income families, and they can be found in both urban and rural communities throughout the United States. Through the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965, Title I schools qualify for additional funds and support from government agencies to help ensure that all children have the opportunity to be successful. Teachers are drawn to teach in Title I schools for a variety of reasons. Many want to make a difference for high-needs students and/or give back to their own communities. Others have been inspired by their own influential teachers and want to be "that one teacher" for their own students. The role of the Paraprofessional is to assist in all aspects of Special Education, 504, and EL Programs at the school's site. the Paraprofessional helps maintain communication channels with parents, peers, and supervisors regarding all ESS items and provide paraprofessional support for individual students. - High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Valid Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card and/or satisfactory applicable state background check.
- Microsoft Office Suite.
- Passing score on applicable paraprofessional exam, CPI or TACT-2
- 1+ years with related special education job duties in a similar-sized school
- Plan implementation with special educational needs in general education settings such as classrooms, halls, lunchrooms, playgrounds, etc.
- Provide paraprofessional or one-on-one support to individual students, as needed.
- Help the ESS Coordinator in all aspects of implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) and 504 plans.
- Work collaboratively with ESS Coordinator
- Provide support to teaching staff.
- Collect and maintain paperwork associated with IEPs and 504 plans and ensure confidentiality and integrity of student records and progress information.
- Support the ESS Coordinator(s) by performing administrative and clerical tasks.
- Maintain regular, full, predictable attendance.
- Supervise individual students and/or groups of students.
- Reinforce and reteach concepts introduced by special education teachers.
- Provide instructional interventions and academic support to individual students or small groups.
- Other duties as assigned.
