Handyman/Carpenter PositionWe are seeking a skilled and versatile Handyman/Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing maintenance and repair services for plumbing, HVAC systems, and various carpentry tasks as needed. The role requires a proactive and resourceful individual who can effectively troubleshoot issues, perform repairs, and ensure the efficient functioning of residential and commercial properties.ResponsibilitiesPlumbing Repairs:Diagnose and repair plumbing issues such as leaks, clogs, and faulty fixtures.Install, maintain, and replace plumbing components including pipes, valves, faucets, and toilets.Conduct inspections to identify potential plumbing problems and recommend preventative measures.HVAC Maintenance:Perform routine maintenance tasks on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.Troubleshoot HVAC equipment to identify malfunctions and implement repairs.Replace filters, belts, and other HVAC components as necessary to ensure optimal performance.Carpentry Work:Handle various carpentry tasks including but not limited to door and window repairs, trim work, and minor renovations.Construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures made of wood, drywall, and other materials.Utilize woodworking tools and techniques to fabricate and install custom carpentry pieces as required.General Maintenance:Conduct routine inspections of properties to identify maintenance needs and safety hazards.Perform general maintenance tasks such as painting, patching walls, and repairing flooring.Ensure compliance with building codes and safety regulations while performing repairs and maintenance activities.Client Communication:Interact with clients to understand their maintenance needs and address any concerns.Provide professional and courteous customer service while onsite and during communication via phone or email.Educate clients on proper maintenance practices and offer recommendations for enhancing property functionality and efficiency.QualificationsProven experience as a handyman, carpenter, or maintenance technician.Proficiency in plumbing, HVAC repair, and general carpentry techniques.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot mechanical and structural issues.Familiarity with a variety of hand and power tools used in plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry work.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused approach.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and prioritize tasks effectively.Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to job sites as needed.Education and CertificationHigh school diploma or equivalent.Completion of a vocational or technical training program in plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, or a related field is preferred.Relevant certifications or licenses in plumbing, HVAC, or carpentry may be advantageous.Physical RequirementsAbility to lift and carry heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.Stamina to perform physical tasks for extended periods and withstand various weather conditions.Manual dexterity and coordination to operate tools and equipment safely.Salary and BenefitsSalary is competitive401k with immediate 100% vested company match, health, dental, vision, disability and life are offered$50,000 in company paid life insuranceImmediate eligibility for paid vacation and paid holidaysApex Pipe Services is an DFWP and EEO Employer.
