Job details Pay $16.00 an hour Shift and schedule Weekdays Overnights Weekends as needed Benefits 401(k) Mileage reimbursement Paid time off Flexible schedule Full job description The Direct Support Professional (DSP) at Pledge Residential Care provides direct support services to adults with intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, and behavioral health needs within residential and community settings. DSPs are responsible for supporting individuals in achieving greater independence, community inclusion, personal growth, and overall quality of life while ensuring services are delivered in accordance with each individual’s Person-Centered Plan, Support Plan, Behavioral Support Plan, HCBS standards, and MaineCare regulations. This position requires the ability to provide support in both home and community environments while maintaining the safety, dignity, rights, and well-being of all individuals served. DSP staff may be required to travel within a 30-mile radius of their assigned program or home and may transport individuals to appointments, activities, employment, recreational outings, and community events. Weekend, evening, holiday, and overnight availability may be required depending on program needs. Duties and Responsibilities Duties include, but are not limited to: Providing direct care and supervision to individuals receiving services Assisting individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs), including hygiene, meal preparation, cleaning, laundry, medication administration support, and daily routines Ensuring the individual’s Person-Centered Plan and goals guide all support activities Maintaining the health, safety, and welfare of individuals within the home and community Supporting individuals in accessing and participating in community activities, employment opportunities, appointments, and recreational interests Encouraging independence, self-advocacy, socialization, and skill development Implementing behavioral support strategies and intervention plans as trained Completing daily documentation, progress notes, incident reports, medication documentation, and other required records accurately and within required timelines Following HCBS regulations, agency policies, confidentiality standards, and mandatory reporting requirements Assisting with transportation using agency or personal vehicles as approved Communicating professionally with guardians, case managers, medical professionals, coworkers, and leadership Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment within the residential setting Attending required trainings, staff meetings, and supervision sessions Performing other duties as assigned by leadership Position Requirements Must be at least 18 years of age High school diploma or equivalent preferred Valid Maine driver’s license with acceptable driving record Proof of current automobile insurance meeting agency requirements Reliable transportation Ability to pass required background checks and maintain eligibility for employment under Maine DHHS regulations DSP certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire CRMA certification preferred for applicable positions, (will provide training) Basic computer skills and ability to utilize electronic documentation systems, email, and internet-based training platforms Ability to safely support individuals with varying behavioral, medical, and physical support needs Ability to lift, transfer, and physically assist individuals as required by program needs Benefits Pledge Residential Care offers eligible employees: Flexible scheduling Paid training Paid travel time where applicable Mileage reimbursement Paid time off (PTO) Ongoing professional development and training opportunities Career advancement opportunities Employee Assistance Program (EAP) 401(k) Retirement Plan Supportive team environment Work/life balance No-cost job-specific training provided by the agency Equal Employment Opportunity Statement Pledge Residential Care is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to creating an inclusive workplace for all employees and applicants.
