Responsibilities:

1. Supervise CFYs, temporary licensees, students, and support personnel as required.
2. Deliver effective rehab services, follow care plans, schedules, and document services promptly.
3. Attend patient care and staffing conferences.
4. Make referrals to other disciplines/agencies for comprehensive patient care.
5. Collaborate with the rehabilitation team to select appropriate therapeutic regimens.
6. Adapt care plans to individual patient needs.
7. Ensure a safe environment and eliminate hazards.
8. Manage supplies and equipment, including cleaning and maintenance.
9. Prioritize patient service and provide compassionate care.
10. Screen, examine, and evaluate patients to establish diagnoses and care plans.

Compliance:

• Adhere to legal requirements, policies, and standards, including HIPAA and the Federal False Claims Act.
• Participate in training, report non-compliance, cooperate with audits, and engage in quality assurance activities.

Essential Job Functions:

• Physical demands include frequent standing and walking, occasional sitting, and handling weights up to 50 pounds.
• Activities involve reaching, handling, fingering, talking, hearing, seeing, and fine manipulation.
• Environmental conditions include exposure to noise, vibrations, hazards, fumes, and moving machinery.

Specific Duties:

• Develop treatment plans for cognitive-communication, speech intelligibility, swallowing disorders, and other related areas.
• Perform Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) if trained.
• Coordinate adaptive communication devices and hearing deficit assessments.
• Evaluate patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed.

Educational/Vocational Requirements:

• A master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or a related field.
• State licensure, certification, or credentials as required.

Work Situations:

• Includes dealing with people, problem-solving, performing under stress, and repetitive tasks.

Occupational Exposure:

• Category I exposure in the rehabilitation department.

Reporting Structure:

• Reports to the Director of Rehab.
