Quality Assurance Specialist and Safety Officer

We're looking for a dedicated and proactive Quality Assurance Specialist / Safety Officer to help us maintain excellence across our programs and facilities. What You'll Do Quality Assurance Specialist Conduct audits, reviews, and assessments to ensure compliance and quality standards are met. Assist with HIPAA privacy and security compliance efforts. Support agency-wide quality improvement initiatives. Conduct investigations and reviews as assigned. Interpret regulations and help departments develop effective compliance processes. Provide training and guidance to staff on quality and compliance topics. Help strengthen systems that support outstanding services for the people we support. Safety Officer Lead and coordinate Arc Herkimer's agency-wide safety program. Chair the Safety Committee and promote a culture of safety. Conduct and oversee safety inspections across agency locations. Track, analyze, and report safety data and trends. Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, OPWDD, and other applicable regulations. Coordinate safety training programs for employees. Oversee safety equipment inspections and maintenance. Assist with emergency preparedness, disaster planning, and workplace safety initiatives. Qualifications One of the following is required: Associate's Degree in Human Services or a related field and three (3) years of relevant experience. Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or a related field and one (1) year of relevant experience. High School Diploma/GED and five (5) years of relevant experience. Additional qualifications: Workplace safety experience required. Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, OPWDD regulations, and compliance standards preferred. Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to interpret regulations and implement practical solutions. Experience conducting audits, inspections, investigations, or reviews.
