Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Shift: Evening/Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours

Experience: Minimum 2 years in Emergency Department

License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, TNCC, PALS or ENPC

Must-Have: 2 years of experience in Emergency Department

Competence in managing trauma, stroke, sepsis, CHF, and cardiac patients

Candidates may not be full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with the organization within the past year

The unit has 243 beds/trauma bays. Fast track is available. A separate triage area exists, and travelers may occasionally perform triage

ER holds are intermixed within the ER. ER RNs are responsible for managing their own ER holds

There are no separate psych/seclusion rooms. In-house security is available

The unit treats approximately 80-90 patients per day. Ratios are 1 to 4

The Emergency Medical Record system used is EPIC. Respiratory Therapy is responsible for ABGs, breathing treatments, and EGSs

RNs must know ECG rhythms as there are no monitor techs in the unit

X-Ray or CT services are available next to the Emergency Department, and transport is provided

Techs or RNs draw blood samples

Scheduling is flexible with self-scheduling options for days and nights. Weekend and holiday requirements are every other

There is no call or standby requirement. Floating to qualified units may be required

The dress code is navy scrubs. Unit-specific orientation is provided

A cancellation policy of 4 shifts per 13-week assignment and 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks applies
