Job Summary: This position is for experienced RCPs who have at least 1 year of acute care clinical experience. Are you interested in joining CHOC's mighty brigade of Respiratory Care Practitioners? Pay Range: Minimum $39.49 Midpoint $52.33 Maximum $65.16

Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.

Experience:

• Required: Minimum one (1) year of clinical experience in acute respiratory care.
• Preferred: Greater than two (2) years clinical acute care experience. Previous pediatric/acute care respiratory experience.

Education:

• Required: Graduate of an accredited two (2) year Respiratory Therapy Program.
• Preferred: Associate or Bachelor of Science/Arts degree.

Training:

• Required: Successful completion of acute care training and competency.

Specialized Skills:

• Knowledge of and ability to provide appropriate patient care depending upon age appropriateness and cultural and spiritual needs.
• Excellent customer satisfaction and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and complete duties in a timely and organized manner.
• Ability to work collaboratively and in a positive manner with others.
• Ability to prepare timely and accurate documentation and reports.
• Ability to perform work according to CHOC policies and procedures, professional standards of care, and applicable laws.

Licensure:

• Required: Basic Life Support, Neonatal Resuscitation Provider Advanced (NRP); Neonatal Resuscitation Provider Essentials (NRP); Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Registered Respiratory Therapist, Respiratory Care Practitioner-CA.
• Preferred: Certified Asthma Educator, Neonatal Pediatric Specialty

Work Environments - Functional Demand: Medium - High energy level Lift and carry 40-50 lbs. Push/pull +/- 150-200 lbs. (Patients on bed, stretcher) Lateral transfer 150-200 lbs. (ie. Patient).
