About the Role

We are seeking a patient-focused Optometrist to join our established, multi-specialty ophthalmology practice in Tampa, FL. We are committed to providing high-quality vision care in a positive, professional, and compassionate environment for both patients and team members.

The ideal candidate is clinically strong, communicates effectively, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced medical setting alongside ophthalmologists and other clinical professionals.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive eye examinations for new and established patients.
• Diagnose and manage ocular diseases and conditions.
• Provide contact lens fittings and follow-up care.
• Co-manage cataract, refractive, glaucoma, and cornea patients with the surgical team.
• Educate patients regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and ongoing vision care.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR system.
• Collaborate with ophthalmologists, technicians, and clinical staff to support efficient patient flow.
• Deliver a high standard of patient-centered care while maintaining professionalism and compassion.
  

Qualifications

• Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution.
• Active Florida Optometry License – Required.
• Ability to obtain a Florida Optometry License, if not currently licensed.
• Strong clinical knowledge and interpersonal communication skills.
• Experience in medical optometry preferred.
• Ability to work effectively in a busy, team-oriented medical environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality patient care.
