We are seeking a compassionate, full-time Pediatrician to join an established and collegial primary care team at the Vintage Park Campus. This position offers a rewarding mix of outpatient and inpatient pediatrics, including hospital call responsibilities for newborn delivery attendance, newborn care, and pediatric admissions-allowing physicians to practice full-spectrum pediatrics while making a meaningful impact in the community. - The new $300 million Mt. Edgecumbe Medical Center opened in Sitka, April 2026 and in 2021 we opened the $30 million Wrangell Medical Center, located in Wrangell. With plans to build a third critical-access hospital in Haines. In addition to the dozens of established outpatient and traveling clinics throughout the region.
- Compensation salary: $240,618 -$267,353 based on years of experience, with additional productivity bonus based on wRVUs, and quality incentives.

- Workweek: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., with telemedicine included.
- Call Schedule: Bi-weekly for 3.5 days at a time, consisting of half-day clinic sessions, inpatient pediatric rounding at Bartlett Regional Hospital, and at-home call.
- Generous Time Off: 33 days (264 hours) annually, including holidays, and an additional 10 days of CME.
- Clinic facilities: 5 exam spaces with access to a treatment room. One medical assistant per physician, dedicated pediatric case manager, and nurse triage. Ancillary services include X-ray, laboratory services, MRI, pediatric rehabilitation, and nutrition support.
- Patient Volume: 12-17 pediatric patients per day in clinic, plus 4 hours of administrative time weekly. EMR and tools include Meditech, Dragon Dictation, and DAX AI assisted documentation.
- Procedure opportunities: Circumcisions, tongue tie release, minor wound repair, nebulizer treatments, draining abscesses, and removing foreign bodies.
- Hospital Capabilities: Nearby Bartlett Regional Hospital has 57 inpatient beds with 7 OB rooms, 2 C-Section rooms, and a special care nursery.

- Two years of inpatient pediatrics experience preferred.
- MD or DO with active/unrestricted Alaska medical license or ability to obtain license.
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Pediatrics
- Unrestricted DEA
- Required: BLS, PALS, NRP.

- Transportation: No road connects Juneau it to the rest of Alaska or the continental United States. Every visitor arrives by air through Juneau International Airport (JNU) or by sea via the Alaska Marine Highway System ferry network.
- Culture: Affluent cultural amenities and numerous community events featuring arts, music, festivals, and a rich Indigenous heritage.
- Provides highest quality evidenced based pediatric medical care to SEARHC patients; including diagnosis, treatment, performance of minor procedures, referral and coordination of care, preventative care, and individualized health maintenance. In special situations, Physician may be directed to provide services outside of the clinic to meet patient and family needs.
- Places the patient and family at the center of care, utilizing strong listening and communication skills, patient education, encouragement, and motivational techniques to build successful ongoing patient care relationships
- Provides clinical pediatric consultation throughout the health system when needed. Services may be provided face-to-face or through virtual formats. Periodic travel may be required to outlying areas.
- Provides guidance to non-physician providers and when necessary provides supervision and practice plan oversight.
- Actively leads and manages a full panel of patients in coordination with the integrated care team.
- Documents all patient services in the medical record per SEARHC medical staff rules and regulations.
- Participates in SEARHC quality and performance improvement programs and maintains active medical staff membership.
- Provides medical education and teaching to visiting medical students and resident physicians where applicable.
- Participates in ongoing medical education to maintain licensure and board certification.
- Well versed in the comprehensive principles and practices of pediatrics
- Exhibits caring and respectful behavior while interacting with patients, families, staff, and colleagues.
- Supports SEARHC standards of care, DNV, EMTALA, HIPAA, and health care risk management principles, and medical ethics.
- Provides high quality health care services including the performance of medical procedures appropriate to the outpatient care setting.
- Provides clinical leadership, promotes teamwork and collaboration, provides clinical guidance as requested for Advanced Practice Clinicians, and resolves conflict.
- Efficiently utilizes the electronic medical record and other clinically required technology.
- Expresses ideas clearly through oral and written communication skills, analyze complex situations efficiently and problem solve, and effectively implement clinical program strategies.
- Communicates in an open, respectful, helpful, supportive and collaborative manner with staff and patients.
- Is sensitive and responsive to culture, race, age, gender, and disabilities of patients and staff.
