Senior Business Analyst, Cancer Center (944825) Job Summary The Senior Business Systems Analyst supports the data, reporting, and operational needs of the Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center (SCCC). In this role, you will serve as a key liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, contributing to system implementations as well as ongoing enhancements. The ideal candidate has experience interpreting business needs and translating them into clear application and operational requirements, ensuring solutions effectively support organizational goals. Job Specific Responsibilities Leads CCSG projects, serving as primary SCCC contact; defines scope, timelines, deliverables, and monitors compliance. Prepares and delivers regular project status reports to stakeholders. Works with project coordinators on CCSG-related initiatives. Gathers and documents requirements for new and existing applications; develops and implements operational plans for business applications. Coordinates application testing, develops test scenarios, tracks issues, and supports troubleshooting and user training; develops system administration procedures for new functionalities. Creates and maintains policies, procedures, and documentation. Sets priorities and monitors design, development, and testing activities for CCSG projects. Reviews, recommends, and implements assigned programs or functions. Manages project accounts, maintains project plans, and tracks progress. Job Duties Manages projects and serves as primary customer contact, defines and maintains project plan and schedules, monitors compliance with project scope, timelines, and deliverables, provides regular project status reports to customer and internal management, and assists lower‑grade business analysts to coordinate projects. Collects, interprets, and documents specifications required to develop new and revise existing software applications; develops and implements operational plans for new and existing business computer applications; participates in development of project proposals for customers. Coordinates testing of new applications and changes to existing applications to ensure data integrity and quality while providing and/or assisting in training of system users; defines and develops test scenarios; documents and tracks status of application errors and related issues in problem log; assists programmers and lower‑grade business analysts in analyzing and resolving problems. Compiles complete, concise, and comprehensive policies and operation procedures to assist in communicating issues to applicable management staff. Develops new system administrative procedures required utilizing new functionality resultant from system changes. Assists in developing and implementing business strategies in departments to improve operational processing and productivity. Monitors development of specifications and establishes priorities for design and testing of various projects. Reviews, develops, recommends, and implements activities, programs or functions as assigned. Maintains and tracks accounts assigned to projects or programs, develops and maintains project plans, and provides project status reports. Records time spent on projects to meet cost‑recovery requirements. Performs other duties as assigned.
