Job Description and Duties

UNIT SUPERVISOR (SAFETY) - Multiple Vacancies - Programs 2, 4 and 5

The Department of State Hospitals-Napa, is accepting applications for full-time, permanent Unit Supervisors (Safety) to fill multiple programs.

Responsibilities include the overall nursing care on a twenty-four-hour basis; and oversee all functions of the unit, including developing goals and objectives, continuous quality improvements monitor and intervenes as needed. Reviews the performance of the assigned nursing staff and completes required performance appraisals based on standard specified in duty statements; takes corrective action. Ensures adequate nursing staff based on allocation acuity system. Ensures the services provided by nursing staff are integrated with other disciplines/departments. Acts as liaison between assigned staff and management.

This position requires a valid, current license as a Registerd Nurse or Psychiatric Technician as determined by the California Board.
