The Clinic Manager serves a critical role within the Wellness Center providing oversight of clinical and facility operations, quality improvement, accreditation, infection control, and supervision within the medical services team. This position ensures the delivery of safe, efficient, compliant, and patient-centered healthcare services while supporting organizational goals and regulatory requirements.Given the complex regulatory environment, accreditation standards, and clinical quality expectations, this position requires a licensed healthcare professional with ambulatory care management experience and the clinical expertise necessary to interpret and implement healthcare regulations, policies, and best practices.Duties/ResponsibilitiesMedical Services Operations Management – 35%Oversee daily clinic operations and patient flow.Manage clinical scheduling processes and provider templates within the electronic health record (EHR).Monitor patient access and appointment utilization.Address operational barriers impacting patient care and clinic efficiency.Respond to and assist in resolving patient concerns and service issues.Develop and oversee the building-wide infection control program.Establish and monitor infection prevention protocols and procedures.Ensure medical-level cleanliness standards throughout clinical spaces.Collaborate with facilities personnel to maintain a safe healthcare environment.Monitor facility utilization and operational readiness.Oversee laboratory processes and quality assurance activities.Ensure compliance with applicable laboratory regulations and standards.Monitor laboratory workflow, documentation, and quality control processes.Oversee procurement, inventory management, and utilization of medical supplies.Ensure adequate supply availability while maintaining fiscal responsibility.Monitor equipment and supply needs to support patient care operations.Quality Improvement, Patient Safety, and Accreditation – 30%Chair the Quality Improvement/Safety Committee.Lead quality improvement initiatives.Develop and monitor performance indicators.Prepare annual quality improvement reports and regulatory submissions.Support risk management activities and patient safety initiatives.Oversee accreditation processes.Coordinate accreditation preparation, documentation, and site visits.Ensure organizational compliance with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.Monitor ongoing compliance and implement corrective actions when necessary.Assists in handling any public health issues that arise in the University community.Supervision and Leadership – 25%Ensures clinic teams are adequately staffed and functioning smoothly on a day-to-day basis.Handles clinical support staff concerns.Develops and/or reviews clinical staff competencies and ensures clinical staff members are appropriately skilled and credentialed.Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and orienting new clinical staff support members.Administrative and Business Support – 10%Assist with processes, referrals, and prior authorizations as operational needs require.Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure efficient patient services.Collaborate with the Business Director on departmental budget planning and management.Monitor operational expenditures and resource utilization.Identify opportunities for operational efficiency and cost containment.RequirementsMinimum Acceptable Education & Experience:Degree from an accredited school in an approved program of professional nursing.Minimum three years of ambulatory health care management experience, including adolescent/young adult services.Experience in using Electronic Health Record systems for documentation, ordering, and patient communication in compliance with regulatory standards.Required Licenses & Certifications:Possession of a current license to practice nursing in the State of New Hampshire.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Ability to perform comprehensive nursing assessments, obtain accurate health histories, identify actual and potential patient care needs, and communicate significant findings to the healthcare team.Knowledge of evidence-based nursing practice and ability to develop, implement, evaluate, and modify individualized nursing care plans in collaboration with providers and the interdisciplinary team.Knowledge of standard precautions, sterilization protocols, and infection prevention practices to ensure a safe clinical environment.Knowledge of hiring practices, credentialing verification, and onboarding processes for clinical staff including nurses and medical assistants.Ability to set performance expectations, conduct evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and manage disciplinary processes in accordance with HR policy.Skill in creating and managing staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage, minimize overtime, and maintain patient flow.Ability to provide clinical oversight, guidance, and professional development support to nursing and medical staff.Ability to facilitate effective communication across multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, high-quality patient care.Knowledge of day-to-day operational workflows including patient intake, triage and appointment scheduling.Ability to manage clinic budgets, monitor expenditures, control supply costs, and contribute to financial planning and reporting.Understanding of applicable federal, state, and accreditation standards and ability to ensure clinic-wide compliance.Ability to oversee procurement, inventory tracking, and management of medical supplies and equipment.Knowledge of internal and external reporting requirements, including incident reporting, quality metrics, and regulatory submissions.Familiarity with practice management systems, telehealth platforms, and other clinical technologies used in the clinic setting.Ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with students from diverse backgrounds, including health literacy considerations.Knowledge of strategies to monitor and improve patient satisfaction, including complaint resolution and service recovery.Ability to build and maintain relationships with community partners, specialists, and referral sources to support continuity of care.Knowledge of ethical principles (autonomy, beneficence, non-maleficence, justice) and ability to apply them in both clinical and managerial decisions.Commitment to maintaining personal clinical licensure/certifications and supporting staff in meeting continuing education requirements.Ability to lead organizational change, build a positive clinic culture, and motivate staff through transitions or challenges.Strong computer skillsPreferred Qualifications:Master's degree in Management, Nursing,
