SPECIAL AGENT

Responsibilities Responsible technical and independent professional work involving the receipt, analysis, and investigation of citizen complaints of civil and/or criminal misconduct alleged against employees of the city, and related work as required. Qualifications Possession of a valid driver’s license. AND either: A Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or closely related field and two (2) years of experience conducting administrative, security and/or criminal investigations. OR a high school diploma or GED and six (6) years of experience conducting administrative, security and/or criminal investigations. Preferred: valid Peace Officers Standard of Training (P.O.S.T.) Certificate (not required). Prior to appointment, the hiring agency will verify education, driver’s license, and certifications claimed by the applicant. Selected applicants must provide original documents before the start date. Pay above the minimum may be granted according to Civil Service Commission rules based on superior qualifications.
