Head of AI

This strategic leadership role drives the vision, execution, and operationalization of artificial intelligence initiatives across multiple business functions. You will lead and scale high-performing teams of AI, machine learning, and data engineers, establishing a robust hub-and-spoke operating model to embed generative AI capabilities throughout the platform and solutions.Partnering closely with cross-functional executive leaders, you will guide architectural decisions for scalable ML systems, data pipelines, and model governance frameworks. This position requires balancing high-level strategic planning with technical execution to deliver measurable business outcomes and ensure the responsible, ethical use of AI technologies.

Responsibilities

• Define, evolve, and execute the comprehensive AI strategy and roadmap in alignment with long-term business goals.
• Lead, mentor, and scale high-performing teams of AI, machine learning, and data engineers.
• Establish a hub-and-spoke operating model to drive generative AI initiatives across cross-functional business units.
• Guide architectural decisions for scalable AI/ML systems, data pipelines, model governance, and deployment frameworks.
• Partner with executive leaders to conduct build-versus-buy assessments and prioritize technical programs.
• Ensure responsible, secure, and ethical use of AI by establishing governance frameworks for model quality, bias mitigation, and compliance.
• Define and track KPIs to measure the operational efficiency, ROI, and business value delivered by AI investments.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional experience in engineering or IT, with 8+ years specifically building, scaling, and deploying AI/ML systems in production environments
• 3+ years of direct leadership experience managing machine learning engineers, data practitioners, or AI teams
• C2 English level or higher
• Proven track record of defining and executing AI strategies that drive measurable product and business outcomes
• Strong technical foundation in machine learning, data architecture, distributed systems, and modern AI tooling, including LLMs and cloud platforms
• Ability to work onsite in San Jose, CA
• Hands-on experience with Deep Learning, Generative AI, Model Governance, MLOps.
