Supervisor, Medical Billing

Medical Billing Supervisor Job Family: Business Operations. Travel Required: None. Clearance Required: None. What You Will Do Manage the daily operations of medical billing, collaborating with Information Systems, Medical Records, Patient Access, and all Ancillary Departments to ensure compliance, regulatory adherence, and bill accuracy. Supervise billers, billing systems, and billing processes while reporting to an Operations Manager or Director. Essential Job Functions Leadership and Training: Act as a leader who instills trust and encourages team play. Ensure all staff understand State and Federal Rules and Regulations, provide a communicative environment for improvement ideas, and offer feedback, seminars, and the necessary tools. Hire and develop staff as departmental needs dictate. Billing: Work with departments to maintain accurate billing and Revenue Codes, deliver Medicare and payer updates, review billing processes and systems, coordinate with IT for UB/837/HCFA1500 changes, ensure bill holds meet goals, collaborate with Ancillary Departments, Patient Access, Medical Records, and Information Systems to achieve clean claim rates, and resolve issues with vendors and payers. Review 2% of billings for quality and provide feedback. Compliance: Communicate compliance issues to the Manager, educate staff on compliance and reporting procedures for State, Federal, and HIPAA, attend seminars, share information, and maintain billing requirements. Reporting: Prepare weekly Key Indicator Reports and Accomplishment Reports, generate daily Medi.com error reports, maintain hold status logs, provide daily electronic and paper claim reports, and produce weekly late charge reports. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an AA Degree with a minimum of 7 years of experience (education can be substituted with advanced experience). Minimum of two years of people leadership experience. Experience in medical billing, eligibility, financial counseling, patient access, or insurance verification within a healthcare provider, payer, or outsourcing company. Nice to Have Previous experience installing or utilizing Relay Health ePremis claims scrubber. PC skills in a Windows environment and proficiency with Word and Excel. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to initiate and follow through on projects independently. Previous supervisory experience. Compensation Annual salary range: $74,000.00–$124,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on skill sets, experience, training, certifications, and other factors.
