Information Security Analyst - Hybrid

Salary: $72,800 - 87,360 per year Requirements:

• 2–4+ years of experience in information security, a security operations center (SOC), or a related IT role with regular security responsibilities
• Hands-on experience triaging SIEM alerts or handling incidents in an IT service management (ITSM) ticketing system
• Working knowledge of web filtering, including reviewing and categorizing URLs and handling requests to unblock them
• Understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, proxies, firewalls, and VPNs
• Ability to investigate phishing emails by reviewing headers, checking URLs and attachments, and taking remediation steps
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain security decisions clearly and courteously to non-technical users
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple alerts and requests at once
• Availability to work onsite four days per week
• Preferred: Industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CySA+, GIAC GSEC, GCIH, or GCIA, or Microsoft SC-200
• Preferred: Familiarity with the MITRE ATT&CK framework
• Preferred: Scripting or automation experience with PowerShell or Python, and exposure to SOAR platforms
• Preferred: Experience with email security gateways such as Proofpoint
• Preferred: Exposure to cloud security in Azure, AWS, or Microsoft 365
• Preferred: Knowledge of vulnerability management tools such as Tenable
• Preferred: Experience in a regulated or public-sector environment, or familiarity with NIST CSF, CIS Controls, or ISO 27001
• Preferred: A bachelors degree in cybersecurity, information technology, computer science, or a related field; equivalent experience is also considered

• Monitor cybersecurity and information security alerts and ticket queues
• Triage escalations from the third-party security operations center, gather relevant information, identify false positives, and hand off appropriate cases to higher-tier analysts
• Help improve security policies and technical controls
• Support incident response activities as needed
• Resolve security requests from employees and work with IT staff, escalating complex incidents to senior security personnel

The position supports our Information Security Operations team as a first responder to security events and combines alert monitoring and investigation with employee security-request support.
