Adult Services Librarian

This position is responsible for providing comprehensive library services for adults within the Library District, including instructing and assisting patrons in the use of library resources, planning and implementing community-responsive library programming, utilizing technical skills to assist patrons, colleagues and District operations, supervising and coordinating assigned staff, and developing and maintaining library collections in assigned areas. This is a key role requiring effective written, verbal, and digital communication skills to create a welcoming experience for the public, and effective coordination and cooperation with library leadership and staff. The Library District uses Sirsi-Dynix software for its ILS, and applicants should be experienced in the use of an ILS system. The Community The Silver Falls Library District serves a population of about 22,000. The library has one facility, located in the downtown of picturesque Silverton, Oregon. Silverton is 25 mintues from Salem, the state capitol, and less than one hour to Porltand. Opportunities for outdoor recreation, entertainment, and cultural happenings abound throughout the surrounding Willamette Valley and urban centers. Silverton is home to many festivals and unique events, and has long been known as an artistic and creative center. The Library District is governemed by a five-member elected board, and serves people of all ages, and the population is a fair distribution of young people, families, and retirees. The Silver Falls Library District is one of 19 member libraries in the Chemeketa Cooperative Regional Library Service.
