Public Health Nurse or Registered Nurse

Overview Des Moines Valley Health and Human Services (DVHHS) is hiring a full‑time Public Health Nurse or Registered Nurse. The role provides skilled nursing care, assessing families’ physical, emotional, and medical needs, carrying out care plans, documenting care, coordinating with school personnel, and referring to community resources. Responsibilities Assess physical, emotional, and medical needs of families Implement and update established care plans Document care and maintain records Assist families in achieving health goals Coordinate with school personnel Refer family health clients to community resources Provide client/family assessments, teaching, and coordination Screen, monitor for complications, and educate families on early signs of disease Compensation and Benefits Public Health Nurse: Grade 14, $31.47–$41.12 per hour Registered Nurse: Grade 13, $29.71–$38.77 per hour 40‑hour work week, full benefit package (Public Employee Retirement pension) Requirements Eligible candidates must meet the diploma or degree requirements for the respective nursing license, hold good standing with the relevant nursing board, and be willing to comply with DVHHS drug and alcohol testing policy. Policy and Testing DVHHS requires a drug and alcohol test within 24hours of a contingent verbal offer, unless alternate scheduling arrangements are approved by Human Resources.
