We are looking for a Per Diem Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team in Southern California!

The Physical Therapist Assistant will be responsible for implementing appropriate treatment under the direct supervision of the Physical Therapist. S/he is responsible for applying all treatment modalities and exercises proficiently knowing indications and contraindications and able to monitor multiple patients in a group setting. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, team player who can multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepares patients and treatment area.
• Uses modalities appropriately and demonstrates awareness of safety in use of equipment.
• Demonstrates good working knowledge of exercise programs including indications and contraindications. Able to accurately provide verbal/written feedback regarding observed patient performance.
• Capable of working with a wide variety of patients (orthopedic, neurological, medical) of different ages) and consistently maintains productivity at department average.
• Demonstrates timeliness of arrival and initiation of work. Efficiently manages time between modality and exercise programs.
• Routinely exhibits good guest relations skills. Develops positive working relationships with all Rehab employees. Relates tactfully with physicians. Acts courteously to visitors.
• Regularly demonstrates good communication skills. Provides and accepts feedback in a constructive manner. Uses appropriate tone and volume in conversations. Always attempts to resolve problems directly; uses chain of communication appropriately.
• Maintains cleanliness and order of work area. Able to accurately order and maintain all inventory assigned.
• Aware of personal abilities and limitations and appropriately seeks assistance or guidance when needed.

Mandatory Prerequisites:

• Graduate of an APTA accredited physical therapy assistant program
• Valid California Physical Therapist Assistant license
• Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily

• Minimum six months of fitness background/training.
• Experience working in a clinically supervised wellness/fitness program specific to older adults preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Good organizational skills
• Ability to reason and carry out instructions.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
• Ability to work in the US without sponsorship

• Per Diem shift coverage as a W-2 employee for coverage as needed
• Only commit to shifts that you can cover
• Shift coverages are 7:30am-4:30pm and 8a - 5p weekdays only
• Competitive hourly rate dependent on your experience ($40-45/hr)
