Sanitor - 3rd shift

Cleaner

Cleans and sanitizes machinery, utensils and equipment used to process or store food or beverages.

Responsibilities

• Daily cleaning and sanitizing of food processing equipment utilizing methods such as (Clean in Place – Clean out of Place) and foaming techniques. • Turn valves to drain machines or tanks and disconnect pipes. • Spray machines, tanks and conveyors with water to loosen and remove dirt or other foreign matter. • Scrub machines, tanks, tables, pans, flumes, tunnels and conveyors and then rinse with water prior to applying sanitizer. • Scrub floors and walls as part of the Master cleaning program. • Connect hoses and lines to pumps to circulate cleaning and sanitizing solution through hoses and lines. • Scrub interior of disconnected pipes, valves, spigots, gauges and meters. • Mix cleaning solutions and diluted acids. • Collect samples of cleaning solutions for titration analysis. • Report any defective machinery found to immediate supervisor.

Education

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred

Work Experience

• One year manufacturing/sanitation experience desirable

Skills and Knowledge

• Ability to read, interpret and follow written job instructions. • Ability to follow and comply with quality standards. • Ability to comprehend and comply with GMP rules and Food Safety guidelines. • May be required to obtain and maintain valid hi-lo license. • Ability to work as contributing member within the team. • Ability to frequently lift/move material weighing up to 25 pounds. • Ability to operate a PC (keyboard/mouse).

Environmental Working Conditions

• Hazards include but are not limited to cuts from broken glass, slips, trips, falls, cuts, burns and strains. • Will be exposed to extreme cold, 38 degrees or below. • Depending on season may be exposed to variable temperatures including extreme hot and cold. • Noise level may be moderate to high during busy times.
