Wastewater Treatment Operator

Job TitleJoin our team and play a vital role in maintaining and repairing the electrical and mechanical equipment that supports Public Utilities facilities.Job DescriptionInstall, replace, repair, and modify mechanical and electrical equipment within Public Utilities facilities. Work on various equipment like pumps valves, regulators, actuators, control panels, communication systems, motor controls, electronic filtering and switching system, production, monitoring, and injection wells. Chemical feed pumps and chemical delivery systems including piping and valving. Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and County safety requirements, including lock-out/tag-out and confined space entry as well as general industry safety rules.Work Hours:Monday - Friday7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.*On-call requiredAbout YouMinimum Qualifications:High School Diploma or its equivalentThree (3) years of experience in applicable trades which include work in the water/wastewater, industrial electrician, or industrial mechanic fieldA valid Florida Driver's License at the time of hireA valid Florida Class "A" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or the ability to obtain within six (6) months from the date of hire (Paid for by the county!)Preferred Qualifications:Proficiency in the operation of a 1.5-ton crane truckProficient in the operation of and electric multimeter, voltmeter, and megohmmeterExperience with pump or motor repair, control panel repair, hydraulics, fluid mechanics, and weldingCertification(s) from trade school in pumps, valves, electrical or fluid mechanicsMust have the skill to be able to dismantle and reinstall mechanical and electrical equipment and work with 440volt electrical currentPhysical Demands: Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 poundsSubject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening.
