Paso Robles Tank, Inc., an Associated Construction & Engineering Company, is a nationally recognized leader in the design, fabrication, and construction of welded steel water storage tanks throughout the Western United States. We are seeking an experienced Construction Safety Professional to lead our safety initiatives in both manufacturing and field construction operations.

This is a full-time exempt salaried position offering excellent compensation, advancement opportunities, and the ability to make a measurable impact on employee safety and operational excellence.

What You'll Do

The Construction Safety Professional is responsible for leading, implementing, and continuously improving the Company's Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Program.

Responsibilities include:

• Conduct manufacturing and construction jobsite safety inspections
• Ensure OSHA and Cal/OSHA compliance
• Perform accident, incident, and near-miss investigations
• Develop corrective action plans and monitor completion
• Conduct employee safety orientation and ongoing training
• Lead toolbox safety meetings
• Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs)
• Audit fall protection, confined space, crane, rigging, welding, excavation, and heavy equipment operations
• Assist with workers' compensation investigations and return-to-work programs
• Prepare safety reports, inspections, and compliance documentation
• Coach supervisors and employees on safe work practices
• Recommend improvements to company safety policies and procedures
• Partner with executive leadership to achieve continuous improvement in safety performance

Travel

This position supports:

• Our 50,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Paso Robles
• Construction projects throughout California
• Periodic projects in Northern Nevada

Travel is typically 1-2 overnight trips per week .

Typical travel includes:

• Bakersfield
• Fresno
• Central Coast
• Bay Area
• Sacramento
• Redding
• Weed
• Reno, Nevada

All company travel expenses are paid, including:

• Company vehicle
• Fuel
• Hotels
• Daily meal per diem

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction safety experience
• Experience in heavy construction, industrial construction, structural steel, steel fabrication, manufacturing, or similar industries
• Thorough knowledge of OSHA and Cal/OSHA regulations
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
• Professional report-writing and computer skills
• Valid California driver's license with acceptable driving record
• Ability to travel overnight as required
• Ability to climb ladders, scaffolding, tanks, and elevated work areas

Compensation

Annual Salary - $80,000 - $130,000 DOE

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

This position requires the employee to safely perform work in both office and active manufacturing and construction environments. Essential physical requirements include, but are not limited to:

• Frequently standing and walking for extended periods.
• Sitting, driving, and operating a computer for extended periods as required.
• Frequently climbing fixed ladders, stairways, scaffolding, and structural steel.
• Climbing vertical ladders to elevated work areas and water storage tanks up to approximately 120 feet above ground level while utilizing required fall-protection equipment.
• Working at heights while wearing personal fall arrest systems.
• Repeated bending, kneeling, squatting, stooping, twisting, crawling, reaching, pushing, and pulling throughout the workday.
• Frequently lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling materials, tools, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance. Heavier items shall be lifted using team lifting techniques or mechanical lifting equipment.
• Safely operating around cranes, forklifts, aerial lifts, heavy equipment, welding operations, and moving machinery.
• Working in confined spaces, elevated work areas, uneven terrain, excavations, and partially completed structures when required.
• Wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, high-visibility clothing, safety footwear, respirators, and fall-protection equipment, as required by the work being performed.
• Performing work in a wide range of weather and environmental conditions, including heat, cold, wind, rain, dust, noise, and direct sunlight.
• Maintaining sufficient visual acuity, hearing, balance, manual dexterity, and coordination necessary to safely perform assigned duties.
• Operating Company vehicles and traveling throughout assigned territories, including overnight travel as required.

Work Environment

Employees may work in office settings, fabrication shops, manufacturing facilities, and active construction sites throughout the western United States. Work may be performed around heavy industrial equipment, structural steel, welding and cutting operations, overhead crane activity, excavation work, elevated work platforms, and other potentially hazardous conditions. Strict adherence to all Company safety policies and OSHA/Cal-OSHA requirements is a condition of employment.
