Project Manager Heavy Civil / BridgePosition OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead heavy highway and bridge construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering projects on time, on budget, and to quality and safety standards. This role requires strong technical knowledge of civil construction, proven experience managing budgets and schedules, and proficiency with project management tools such as Procore.Key ResponsibilitiesLead planning, execution, and closeout of heavy highway, bridge, and civil construction projects while ensuring safety, quality, and contract compliance.Prepare, monitor, and control project budgets, forecasts, and cost reporting; implement corrective actions to meet financial targets.Develop, maintain, and drive project schedules (critical path, look-ahead schedules) and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to meet milestones.Manage contract administration including change orders, claims management, and documentation to protect project and company interests.Oversee onsite operations and provide technical guidance for construction activities, ensuring adherence to drawings, specifications, and engineering standards.Use Procore and other construction management tools to maintain project documentation, track progress, and communicate with stakeholders.Conduct risk assessments, identify critical issues, and implement mitigation strategies to minimize schedule and cost impacts.Lead procurement coordination and resource planning to ensure labor, equipment, and materials are available when needed.Maintain client and stakeholder relationships through regular reporting, meetings, and transparent communication.Enforce safety programs and regulatory compliance (OSHA and site-specific requirements) and promote a culture of continuous improvement and quality assurance.QualificationsBachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; equivalent experience considered.Minimum 7 years of progressive experience managing heavy highway, heavy civil, or bridge construction projects, with demonstrated track record of successful project delivery.Proven experience with project controls: budgets, cost forecasting, schedule development and maintenance (MS Project or similar).Hands-on experience with Procore or similar construction management platforms for document control, RFI/ submittal workflows, and reporting.Strong knowledge of bridge construction methods, civil construction practices, and heavy equipment operations.Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills; experience supervising field and office teams.Experience managing subcontractors, scopes of work, and contract change management.Familiarity with safety standards (OSHA), construction quality control, and regulatory compliance.Professional certifications such as PMP, CCM, or PE are a plus; valid drivers license required.Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), scheduling software, and basic familiarity with AutoCAD or civil drawings interpretation.Benefits401(k), Medical insurance, Vision insurance, Dental insurance, Paid maternity leave, Paid paternity leave, Tuition assistance, Disability insurance, Medical insurance, Vision insurance, Dental insurance, Paid maternity leave, Paid paternity leave, Tuition assistance, Disability insurance
