Welding Fabricator Lead Man

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Welding Fabricator Lead Man to oversee our fabrication operations and ensure projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards.

Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and train a team of skilled welders and fabricators.
• Plan, assign, and direct daily welding and fabrication tasks to meet production schedules and deadlines.
• Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly.
• Perform various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Arc, etc.) on different materials (steel, stainless steel, aluminum, etc.).
• Fabricate and assemble metal parts, brackets, and structures according to required dimensions and tolerances.
• Conduct quality control inspections of finished products, ensuring adherence to quality standards and specifications.
• Monitor project progress, track milestones, and report weekly updates to management.
• Identify opportunities for process enhancements and efficiency improvements within the fabrication shop.
• Ensure all safety protocols and procedures are strictly followed, maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
• Estimate time and material costs for custom fabrication projects.
• Operate and maintain a variety of welding and fabrication equipment, including torches, power supplies, saws, grinders, and other machine shop tools.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment as needed.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a welder/fabricator, with at least 3+ in a lead or supervisory role.
• Expertise in various welding processes (MIG, TIG, Stick, Flux-Core, etc.) and ability to work with diverse metals.
• Strong ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols.
• Proficient in using measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, and depth gauges.
• Excellent knowledge of metal fabrication techniques, including cutting, shaping, bending, and assembly.
• Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, train, and manage a team effectively.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to all safety regulations.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects (50+ lbs.) and stand/be active for extended periods.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver's license (if applicable for occasional travel or material pick-up).
• Preferred: Experience with CNC cutting machines. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.
