Position: Sheet Metal Fabricator
Department: Service Reports To: Service Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Employment Type: Full time Position Summary The Sheet Metal Fabricator will fabricate, build, and install various types of metal structures and equipment for commercial refrigeration, HVAC, and other mechanical projects. This position does not have direct reports, primarily performs work independently with occasional team/group work environments and is under direct supervision. Essential Functions/Responsibilities- Reads and understands technical drawings (e.g., blueprints, schematics).
- Measures, cuts, and welds pieces together according to specifications, blueprints, or directions.
- Selects appropriate material for each job based on the desired or necessary strength.
- Cuts, bends, and shapes sheet metal to required dimensions.
- Connects pieces or secures seams by riveting, rolling, soldering, or using steel screws.
- Maintains clean and orderly workspace(s).
- Utilizes a computerized management system to accurately record work progress and history.
- Sets and achieves individual goals and supports department goals by contributing to a team environment.
- Demonstrates effective communication, assertiveness, versatility, and follow-through in responding to customer needs.
- Demonstrates professionalism, timeliness, accuracy, and projects a positive company image in all assigned duties.
- Complies with all company and industry safety standards.
- Other duties as assigned by authorized personnel.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Vocational/technical school training, apprenticeship, or certification preferred.

- Excellent mechanical, analytical skills, and creativity skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of commercial refrigeration/HVAC equipment.
- Ability to perform effectively in a high-stress, fast paced environment.
- Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work tasks.
- Ability to safely use machinery, power and hand tools involved with sheet metal work.
- Ability to read and interpret operation and repair manuals, schematics, and mechanical blueprints.
- Ability to follow instructions and meet deadlines.
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn computer programs.
- Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
