Financial Analysis - Senior Associate - Partner Card Finance

Join Partner Finance, supporting the Amazon General Management (GM) team, for an exciting opportunity to provide financial and strategic analysis, oversight, and coordination of budgeting and forecasting. Our Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) teams are responsible for a wide range of activities including financial control, forecasting and budgeting, analysis of financial/business metrics, delivery of regular management reporting, development of new reporting capabilities, and advising the line of business CFOs on how to increase profitability and efficiencies. As a Financial Analyst Senior Associate in the Partner Finance team, you will analyze, prepare, and reconcile accounting and technical data as well as prepare reports, while always thinking of and devising ways to streamline and minimize cycle times through automated applications and process improvement. You will also help develop recommendations effecting business procedures and operations and maintain financial and reporting systems. In addition, you will assist the department and other team members with special projects or components of other projects as needed.Job responsibilitiesManage annual/continual financial planning activities for product areas, providing business rational and decisions for all month-end financial performance and forecasting, conducting reviews and analysis on product financial performance, consumption/demand planning, budgeting, billing, trends, and exception reportsPrepare efficiency reporting, analytics and strategy including, but not limited to location strategy, span of control, reporting and analyticsCreate financial business cases supporting business initiativesReport and monitor key metrics, drive data quality initiatives across the product area, and help define future needs of the product areaDevelop and track performance metrics, create presentations, and generally provide financial analysis on a variety of topics to senior managementPerform variance analysis to understand the key drivers of the results and present commentary to senior managers, explaining changes from prior forecasts/budgetsHelp design new reports and dashboards to efficiently deliver the financial results to senior managementEnhance controls and streamline processes, introducing automation where possibleRequired qualifications, capabilities and skillsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a subject of a technical nature4+ years of work experience in Accounting, Finance, Planning & Analysis, Marketing Analytics or Business Management Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint and proficient with EssbaseProficiency with data mining/gathering and manipulation of data setsInquisitive, enthusiastic and diligent, and capable of challenging peersStrong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex issues clearlyAbility to create ad hoc reporting for senior managementProven track record for executing on special projects / assignments with often little lead time or informationTeam player with the ability to build relationships and be a trusted partner for the Business, internal and external stakeholders, Finance, and other cross-functional TeamsHighly motivated self-starter with excellent time management/prioritization skills and ability to able to thrive under pressure and tight deadlinesStrong analytical and problem solving skills with ability to analyze large data sets and present conclusions conciselyAdditional InformationTo be eligible for this role, you must be authorized to work in the United States.
