Registered Nurse (RN) - PCU

Per Diem | Hampton Roads, VA | Day and Night Shifts Available

☀️ Day Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Night Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

PCU RN Qualifications

✅ Valid Virginia RN License
✅ At least 2 years of recent PCU nursing experience within the last 4 years
✅ Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
✅ Current ACLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
✅ Recent QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within the last 12 months
✅ COVID-19 vaccination or an approved medical/religious exemption

Additional qualifications may be necessary depending on the specific hospital assignment.

Key Responsibilities

As a PCU RN, your duties will include:

Providing safe, high-quality nursing care in an acute care hospital environment
Assessing, monitoring, and documenting patient conditions and their responses to treatments
Administering medications, IV therapies, and treatments as per physician directives
Monitoring cardiac rhythms and utilizing specialized equipment for PCU patients
Identifying changes in patient conditions and responding appropriately
Collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
Maintaining accurate and timely electronic medical records
Adhering to hospital policies, infection control standards, and patient safety protocols
Providing education to patients and their families
Professionally adapting to various hospital settings and unit requirements
